Over the past three weeks in Toulouse, we have been on numerous field trips to local farms. I have loved having the opportunity to discuss the differences and similarities of American and French agriculture. My favorite trip that we took was to a beef farm about an hour outside of Toulouse. Growing up on a beef farm, I already knew that this would be my favorite day. After hearing about the history of the farm, we got to visit the barn. The three brothers that own the farm were incredibly welcoming to our entire group and were able to answer all of our questions. After we toured the farm, their mother provided everyone with cake and juice! It was so wonderful being in such a hospitable environment!
