This is Nicholas Crowell again. I wrote the wrong date for when we departed for France it was actually May 10. We had our first day of class on may 13. We had a tour of Toulouse during the weekend of our arrival. We saw a variety of things such as cathedrals, medieval houses, paintings, and even the place where a previous duke was beheaded. Toulouse has been ruled by the romans, the spanish, and the french in it’s past. The city has two canals originally built to prevent having to pay Spanish taxes when shipping goods around the Iberian Peninsula. Many people in toulouse were rich due to the selling of a blue dye grown in the area and eventually wine. The city is beautiful and has winding streets to slow down the fast wind the area is known for.
