Hort Club President Mary Lewis Receives Proven Winners Scholarship

ConDSC_6967smgratulations to Horticulture major Mary (AKA “Snowberry”) Lewis whom recently received the Proven Winners Grower Excellence Scholarship! Proven Winners is a nationally known marketing brand that supports education with a $25,000.00/year scholarship program. Mary apparently survived Hort 4050 Greenhouse Management as well as her internship to France and has returned victorious… and a bit more solvent given the $5000.00 award.  Congratulations to Mary on this and her being elected the 2015-2016 Horticulture Club President!

David Kopsell Receives ASHS Outstanding Educator Award

Hort DeDSC_3046smpartment Alumni, Dr. David Kopsell, ’99 (In the coat and Tie) Associate Professor at Illinois State University, received the 2015 Outstanding Undergraduate Educator Award from The American Society for Horticultural Science! David received his MS and Ph.D from the Hort Department at UGA. Seen with him here in the image is his brother Dean, whom also graduated with two advanced degrees from UGA. Congratulations Dr. Kopsell !
